Logistics and Longings

Another long day. This morning Josh and I finalized things at the funeral home, met with Terry to firm up funeral service details. The afternoon filled up with phone calls, selecting pictures and artwork for display and other logistics. We are almost set now. Later I popped over to see Lucia and Micah.Okay, I do think he has my nose.

This morning we were telling Jonah and Aiden that Amma was in heaven now, fully healed. "She can talk again?" Jonah asked. Yes, Buddy, and shout and sing and laugh. Heaven seems closer now.

Thanks for all the encouraging notes. Keep praying for the next phase of the journey.

Dan,

Thank you for sharing this journey with us. You, Nancy and the kids are a testimony to God's grace in the midst of suffering. This is the only place we can find joy and sorrow deeply mingled.
As you continue to live in this place of joy and sorrow deeply mingled, I will pray for you that His presence will be stronly felt each minute of the day.

I often think of the hymn "I Need Thee Every Hour" and think that just isn't often enough!! I know you will be needing Him every minute and pray His loving arms would be around you.

I am thankful for the assurance that Nancy is worshiping with the Saints that have gone before her. What an amazing picture. I pray that the knowledge of her healing and life everlasting in praise and glory will bring you peace. A peace that passes understanding.

Bless you brother,
Jenny DeVos

WE pray that God will continue to keep his arms around you and comfort you. We share in your joy that Nancy is freed from her suffering and is now healed in the arms of the Father. What a blessing that Nancy got to meet Micah ----and to name him. Our prayers are with you.
In Christ's love,

Hi Dan and family - I know exactly what these days are like, with all the planning and preparing when you are exhausted and worn. You have been hourly in my prayers and will be for these next few very difficult days. And when the weeks turn into months, and the calls and cards slow down, as they naturally will, and lots of folks are going back to their routines, I will be praying for all of you every day as you continue to miss Nancy so much. While I rejoice with you that she is healed and happy and complete, and she is waiting in Heaven for each of you when God brings you Home, the sadness and sorrow over missing someone you love so much remains as well. I have found enormous strength in the words to "Dear Refuge of My Weary Soul" and have been praying the song for you. The third verse says "Hast Thou not bid me seek Thy face, and shall I seek in vain? And can the ear of sovereign grace be deaf when I complain?
No still the ear of sovereign grace,attends the mourner's prayer;
Oh may I ever find access, to breathe my sorrows there."

Trusting that the sovereign ear of grace will hear your every prayer, whether spoken, thought, or uttered by the Holy Spirit on your behalf, and thankful that we have a Father to whom we can breathe our sorrows. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and allowing me to be encouraged by Nancy's life and faith and by your faith and trust in God in letting her go to Him when He called her Home. With much love - Cindy Nore

Chris Rice - Untitled Hymn (Come To Jesus) Lyrics

Weak and wounded sinner
Lost and left to die
O, raise your head, for love is passing by
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus and live!

Sharing your pain and lifting you before Jesus.

Debbie

Now your burden's lifted
And carried far away
And precious blood has washed away the stain, so
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus and live!

And like a newborn baby
Don't be afraid to crawl
And remember when you walk
Sometimes we fall...so
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus and live!

Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain, then
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus and live!

O, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can't contain your joy inside, then
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live!

And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory's side, and
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live!

Dear Dan and family,

As so many have expressed, thank you for allowing "us" to be a part of Nancy's courageous journey. The beautifully-written entries are so honoring and reflect a tenderness so rare in many marriages and households today.

I'm thinking of and praying for you at this difficult time.

Dear Dan,
Though we are following your journey from afar, we do appreciate the time you take to blog and allow us to hitch a ride. Separation was one of the first effects of the Fall, and one of the last frontiers the Kingdom has to conquer. Your courage in continuing the journey for a while alone, until you are reunited, steels our hearts as well.
Love, Jennifer and Scott

Dan, we pray daily for you and your family, as you walk through the loss of your "bestest friend" and mother of your amazing family. Like another said who commented on your post here, the blog entries are really beautiful, and a rarity in many marraiges and families. Thank you again for allowing all of us to share your journey with you. Love you.

Though this way wasn't your choosing, you and Nancy have proclaimed the Eternal Gospel even so and especially in this time...

Though you didn't organize it, you have led many of us to Worship Him who made the Heavens and earth...

And without a single power point presentation, you have rallied the saints towards missions (beyond self!) with the transparency of your heart and its faithfulness to our Jesus!

Our family continues to pray for yours with Hope in this Promise:

Then I heard a voice from Heaven saying,
"Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on."
"YES," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them."
(Rev.14:13)

Much love,
Jim and Beth Lineberger
