coming to the end of a busy week

After last week's good news we have kept pretty busy with procedures.
  • Monday's chemo went better, there has been no significant nausea and her temp has not risen above 99.2. Good stuff.
  • Yesterday's test took Nancy into the MRI chamber. She took a sedative to stem some of the claustrophobia that comes with brief imprisonment in a confined space. This left her ready to sleep through the evening and night. Also, good stuff. She needs some restorative down time right now.
  • Today's bone scan is the last procedure in a busy week. It will occupy the whole afternoon.

Again let me say that these tests have not been triggered by any crisis event. This is part of tracking and managing a chronic condition like cancer.

Also, this week I got into the office enough to begin to feel a bit of a rhythm returning to my work life. It was good to get past responding to immediate issues and work on some long range stuff.

In short we are trying to find a balance. While life is not "back to normal" we have a bit more breathing space and we are trying to find our way along this leg of the journey. We must see that HE walks with us through this phase as well.

Dan and Nancy, your World Harvest family continues to pray for you from every corner of God's world. Ashley reported prayer for you from the Uganda team even as Lisa and I lift up your challenges from Charlottesville. It is so encouraging to read good news, and see real progress, and know that our Savior is intervening for you constantly.

Hi Dan and Nancy - I know from having had cancer myself that these screening tests are rough on the emotions; necessary and a good thing to do, but rough nonetheless. I am praying for good news on the screening tests, no fevers and less reaction to the chemo, and for God's comfort and peace. I wanted you to know that my daughter (Jessica Pety) had your blogsite marked as a "favorite" on her new computer that she got in November, and she had been monitoring your blogs until her accident at MTI. She had told me of your situation and was in prayer for both of you. What a privilege I feel to take her place in prayer, using that very same computer to check your blogs. God bless - Cindy Nore
