Two Sighs of Relief

My specialist was encouraging yesterday. He saw the test numbers headed in the right direction, prescribed one more round of antibiotics and told me to come back in February. I am thankful that cancer treatment will not hang over this house for a second straight Christmas.
In the meantime, pray that my numbers go down another notch or so. All this led to one big sigh of relief.

Earlier today I typed in the last of the 21,688 words from the red notebook entitled Nancy's Journey Home. With the contents of the notebook in the computer, I will copy the entries from this blog into a Word document, and then begin to edit. All this will enable me to see the tale that's left to tell, and how to go about telling it. Having thus delivered these "building blocks" to the site, I am breathing a second sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, the kids and I prepare to gather for our first Christmas since Nancy went home. There will be some more sighs, some of them will be sighs of longing for the final Holiday, The Day of HIS return.

Hi Dan - I was so glad to hear the results from your appointment with the doctor look encouraging. I know you must have felt so many emotions as you typed Nancy's journal into the computer and will be praying that re-reading (and in some cases re-living) those months will not be too overwhelming. Still praying for you and your family during the holidays. With love - Cindy

Dan-

I am so relieved to hear that your specialist is not concerned! I've been eagerly awaiting a blog entry from you to find out what transpired after your time with him.

Two things come to mind from reading your last entry...

One is that you should schedule an appointment with the eye doctor since you probably can't see straight after staring at the computer screen for over 20,000 words :-)

The other was remembering what my dad's last words were to me as he left my house just days before he died. They were, "See you at Christmas!"
I am still waiting...but I know I will see Him and him at Christmas. No doubt about it!

You gotta get up!....

It's Christmas morning!"

From the first time I heard that, I thought it must point forward to the second Christmas, the second Advent. What a day for the Family to gather!
