birth announcement

It's A Boy!

Today at 12:20 Micah Joshua Macha arrived. He weighed in at 7lbs. 4ozs. and stands 19 1/2 inches tall. I shared this news with Nancy as soon as I could, and when I held the camera phone in front of her she blinked a couple of times. So, the baby she named has entered the world before she departs. Clearly this was meant to be. We rejoice in HIS good timing and wise purposes--as we face the disappointment of the short period of "overlap" these two dear ones will enjoy.
Meanwhile, those luminous blue eyes have dimmed a couple of shades today. The shadows are lengthening around her, and we await her return HOME soon. All day long I have recited the Ancient Wisdom:
The Lord gives
The Lord takes away
Blessed Be the Name of the Lord

Hi Dan, Nancy, and family - I wanted to say how happy I was to read that Micah has safely arrived. I am praying continuously for Nancy - that she would feel only peace and rest as she awaits Jesus to take her Home; praying that the bittersweet mix of joy in Micah's birth and sorrow in letting Nancy go to her eternal Home will not overwhelm you; praying that even now the strong arms of God will bear you through these next hours and days. God bless - Cindy

Dan,
My prayer day and night these last two days has been that Nancy would see Micah! My prayers remain with you and your family right now, that God would continue to meet you and comfort you. I am very thankful to you and Nancy for sharing with us this part of your life.

Dan and Nancy,
We are praying for you tonight and in tears reading your blog after several weeks. God is good and your faith is awesome. Thanks for sharing in this way. Letting go seems so tough and such a gift to her.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. SO thankful and full of praise that Micah had a safe entry into the world, and that Nancy caught a glimpse of him. Thanks for sharing your heart through this. Your faith is encouraging and challenging!

I'm glad - so glad - that God permitted Nancy to see her beautiful grandson today. I've been checking all day to see if He would grant this desire, and praise Him He saw fit to do so. What a sweet, good gift. I join your church family all over in continuing to pray for your family.

Micha is beautiful! Congratulations to you all. We pray even now for the next generation of faith to be raised up and nurtured. What wonderful stories you will tell all of the grandkids about Nancy and her love and life. Please tell her that we love her and squeeze her hand for us. Peace to all of you.

Dear Dan,
How gracious of God to answer all of our prayers regarding the timing of Micah's birth! What a gift! You both continue to be a huge blessing and source of courage and strength as you look to Him to sustain and guide you each step of the way. Every time I check for news of Nancy, I am relieved and sad, joyful and aching with you through this grieving and letting go process. Thank you so much for your faith and your honesty. I truly honors Him and blesses all who watch and pray with you!

I've been blessing Nancy for the last week with the blessing from Psalm 128:

Behold, thus shall the [woman] be blessed who fears the Lord.

The Lord bless you from Zion!

May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life!

May you see your children's children!

Peace be upon Israel!

I have been praying that this would especially apply in this instance of a grandchild, and I am glad to hear she blinked to see the photo.
