Quality Family Time

Yesterday was a good time. We enjoyed lots of quality time. Highlights included:

  1. Story time with Jonah
  2. The girls' shopping trip to get Nancy some comfortable new lounge wear
  3. A phone conference between Dan and Josh to discuss the sermon he is preaching at Bridge this morning
  4. Birthday cake with Uncle Rick Freeman----we won't disclose which birthday it was
  5. Family stories about dating and wedding ceremonies 'til Nancy was tuckered out.
  6. And a great night's sleep for Nancy. She is regaining some core strength which is good to see.

This morning I went to New Life's early service. The chorus of one song is echoing through my soul:

My Savior lives

My Savior loves

My Savior's always there for me.

These are the days that you find out whether these are just cute words but living realities. So far we have known His life, His love, and His presence. Pray that we experience those realities each moment of the journey.

Nancy, you are beautiful. I am thankful for the photo that captures you reading to Jonah. I can imagine your warm alto voice and it is sweetness to my heart. You are once again inviting us to engage the beauty and mystery of life. We love you and continue to cry out to Our Father on your behalf for healing. We will see this, it may or may not be this side of heaven. We pray for many more years with us all, but especially for Dan and the kids. May you all know His strength, protection and solace in your weakness,
Wendy

Dan and Nancy,
What a beautiful photo and a joy to see Nancy up and having this time with Jonah. Thank you for sharing your day and night with us. The Lord is right in the middle of everything you mentioned and reveals that in things like the song Dan sang at church.
One of my favorite worship songs that reminds me of the goodness of the Lord is:
Blessed Be Your Name:

Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's 'all as it should be Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Nancy it was a blessing to be able to pray with you on Friday. I am praying everyday for you, Dan and your kids. May the Lord envelop you.

Peace,
Jenny DeVos

Dear Nancy and Dan:
"O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul longs for you in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.
Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.
My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me."

David, in Ps. 63, for your blessing, with our love and prayers. Bill and Charlotte V

Dear Dan and Nancy,
We are thankful that the LOVE of Christ transcends the distance, years, and bitterness of this world...for His Glory! Though we have been out of touch with you guys (or "ya'll"), our lives and stories were once inextricably bound and so our hearts as well...and we pray with all heart for you during this difficult time the Promise of Our Abba Daddy:

"Let the Beloved of the LORD
(Dan and Nancy)
rest secure in Him,
for He shields them all day long,
and the one the LORD loves
(YOU again!)
rests between His shoulders."
(HIS HEART)

Deut.33:12

Crying with you to KNOW this Rest.
Much love,
Jim and Beth Lineberger
